Job Description: Export Compliance Analyst/Specialist

Job Description:
This position is responsible for improving and ensuring ESRI’s compliance with export regulations worldwide. This is a dynamic environment and this position works closely across all groups within ESRI in order to implement robust processes and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for compliance with USG export regulations to ensure ESRI products and services are handled internally and exported in accordance with the law
- Provide advice to development and management staff regarding all aspects of the exporting process, Company Export policies and procedures, and governmental regulations.
- Participate in compliance audits and develops and conducts training programs for ESRI personnel.
- Develop educational materials to assist in training.
- Perform regulatory analysis to help determine proper jurisdiction and appropriate classification of hardware, software, technology, marketing materials, and services.
- Provide advice based upon regulatory analysis for exporting products under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and Office of Foreign Assets Control sanctions (OFAC).
- Investigate and resolve non-compliance issues and problems in coordination with the Contracts and Legal Services Department
- Research and support the ESRI order screening process for “denied persons” and denied entities and prohibited activities and administration of export licenses
- Screen conference attendees and on-site guests
- Support RFP review for ITAR considerations
- Review/classify hand carry materials for travel authorization
- Review/analyze export license applications for shipments to controlled persons or entities of countries
Job Skills and Qualifications:
- BA/BS Degree with excellent academic credentials
- 3+ Years of experience in Export Compliance including Export license processing, Export control laws associated with encryption, product and services classification.
- Knowledge of EAR and ITAR
- Exhibit strong analytical, project management, problem solving, negotiation, organizational and teaching skills
- Strong project management leadership skills
- Make well reasoned business decisions quickly
- Ability to interact at all levels with well developed business acumen/ability to deal with ambiguity
- Fact Finder
- Understanding of Software Technology a Plus
- Previous encryption review and encryption licensing experience a Plus
