The Certification Board of Governors (CBG) is a non-profit U.S. organization whose purpose is to establish and maintain the highest ethical and professional stands of performance of the global trade community. The Certified Board of Governors has a small full-time staff who mange the daily operations and many volunteers dispersed globally who sit on the various committees. Each of these committees are comprised of experienced professionals from business and government who volunteer their time, talent and efforts to set, monitor and refine the standards in the global trade community. Each were nominated by business or government counterparts and approved by the Executive Committee.
The Certified Board of Governors volunteer organization is comprised of four bodies:
- Executive Committee
- Advisory Council
- Ethics & Professional Standards Committee
- Compliance & Enforcement Committee
