Certified ITAR Professional® (CIP)

This certification provides a valuable third-party verification of professional proficiency and is helpful in validating an organization’s due-diligence and ability to be ITAR compliant.

Level: Advanced certification. The highest level of ITAR certification for individuals who posses a strong background in all aspects of trade compliance under the ITAR.

Having Certified ITAR Professional® certification holders within an organization ensures confidence in the compliance readiness. It assures employers during the review or hiring process that an individual has a mastery of the regulatory requirements and has an expert working knowledge of exporting and importing under the U.S. Department of State’s International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

The knowledge base for this certification focuses on controlled defense products and services, initiating and administering ITAR Agreements, identifying and claiming ITAR exemptions, recognizing and implementing internal and external corporate compliance audits. The CIP certification denotes mastery of a wide array of skills, including the ability to recognize potential ITAR violations, to develop proper export record keeping practices, to help mitigate potential DDTC consent agreements and financial/civil penalties and to develop company export compliance processes and design an organization’s Technology Control Plan. Individuals earning this certification have reached the highest industry certification level reflecting their expert knowledge of all aspects of the ITAR regulations.
